Sara Tombelli

 

Sara Tombelli joined as researcher the Institute of Applied Physics (CNR) in Florence, Italy, since November 2011. She graduated in Chemistry at the University of Florence, Italy, in 1996. She received the PhD in Environmental Sciences with full marks in 2001 at the Department of Chemistry. 
Her research activity is focused on analytical chemistry, biosensors development and surface modifications with bio-molecules, such as antibodies, enzymes, aptamers and nucleic acid probes. On the above topics she has contributed more than 100 publications on international refereed journals, books and conference proceedings (H-index=36, Scopus). She is Reviewer for more than 30 international journals and outstanding reviewer for Analytica Chimica Acta, Applied Surface Science, Sensors, Sensors & Actuators B and Talanta. She is member of the Editorial Board of Sensors (MDPI, ISSN 1424-8220), section Biosensors; she has been Special Issue Editor for Sensors of the Special issue “Label-Free Biosensors” and she is Special Issue Editor for Sensors of the Special issue “Label-Free Biosensors II”. She is member of the advisory board of the journal Sci (MDPI, ISSN 2413-4155). She is included in the Top Italian Scientists list of the Via-Academy.
She has been part of international commissions as international expert for several international PhD thesis (Spain, Switzerland). She participated in several European Projects (Nanodem, Hemospec, Careman, Gapogrowth) and in other national and international projects. She has been reviewer and referee for the evaluation of international projects such as proposals under the ERC Ideas Specific Programme and the FET programme. She received the habilitation as full and associate professor in Analytical Chemistry (Italian Ministry for Research).
